Disaster recovery is only as good as the records and information that have been identified and protected.  With the explosion of remote working, the number of potential information silos has also exploded.  To assure that all vital records are found and preserved, organizations should re-inventory and re-data map their information systems.

We all face challenges improving our organizations’ RIM and IG programs. Determining needs, deciding how to move forward, obtaining executive buy-in and necessary resources--challenges confront us at every stage. In this half-day workshop, gain valuable insights on how analyze any situation, formulate a plan, and navigate the process of convincing your management to approve and fund projects.

Speakers

Jesse Charfauros, CEO/President restorVault, has over 30 years of experience in the computer storage industry, including engineering and sales positions at both EMC and NetApp. In 2004, Jesse founding RestorWare, to deliver storage-based business continuity solutions to simplified disaster recovery for Fortune 500 and government customers. In 2015, Jesse realized that the explosive growth of inactive data and rapid adoption of multi-cloud computing had turned traditional storage and backup solutions into wasteful, bloated targets for ransomware. Cheryl Ahrens Young CSPO, CSM, IGP, CTT+, ERMm | Cheryl Young has been active in the records and information management field for over 38 years as a business process consultant, trainer, records manager, information analyst, contracts manager and project manager with specific expertise in RIM projects and Lean process analysis.  Her motto:  “Say It, Do It, Prove It”

Ms. Young is a Certified Scrum Product Owner, Certified Scrum Master, Information Governance Professional, Enterprise Records Management Master and Certified Technical Trainer.  She also holds certificates in Lean methodology and Enterprise Content Management. Cheryl is the current Secretary of the Orange County Chapter of ARMA International, a past Chair of the ARMA International 2004 Conference in Long Beach and is past ARMA Pacific Region Manager, encompassing California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Hawaii.  She is also a member of the Project Management Institute, AIIM and IOFM.

Cheryl helped create the records retention module for Digitech and for FileBound and has developed retention schedules, which includes identifying vital records, for local government organizations as a foundation for RIM and IG programs.  She has also participated on RIM teams for Fortune 100 companies to build compliant, litigation ready programs.
